MY STORY.
In September of 2023, I had the opportunity to participate in a local PechaKucha event sponsored by the Krasl Art Center. PechaKucha, which is Japanese for “Chit Chat”, creates a structure with which to tell a story. Every PechaKucha presentation uses 20 slides, 20 seconds each.
For my PechaKucha presentation, I told the story of how I began as a curious child, set a goal with a childhood friend to become an engineer, and experienced some challenges during my high school sports career that provided me an opportunity to get into wood working. I really enjoyed the process of making my story fit in the prescribed timeframe, and the opportunity to share with my community. If you’d like to watch my presentation, please follow this link.

Enhanced Timber is the culmination of years of working with live edge furniture and the desire to forge a new market in Southwest Michigan.
Dawson acquired an eye for detail that is necessary for working on one-of-a-kind furniture through working in a family of craftsmen. He honed his techniques for the detailed skills required to produce custom pieces. Hand-selected wood slabs are each unique and finished to enhance the wood’s natural beauty. We use a food-safe, oil-based protectant that enriches the color of each piece, while creating a lasting finish, and creates a highly water-resistant surface without taking away from the natural wood feel. Boss Lady AKA Penny
Penny is our in-house HDR, Human-Dog Resources. She makes her rounds and ensures that everything is up to her standards. She typically comes into work on some days, so if you plan on coming to the shop to discuss custom pieces and would prefer her to be put up, just let us know in advance when you start the scheduling process.
The Furry Apprentice AKA Timber
Timber is our in-house trainee. He spends most of his time chewing on toys and lounging on his bed. But when he is up and about, he likes to play fetch and say hello. He is exceptionally playful and loves to meet new people. He is usually at the shop during the day so if you would prefer him to be put away, just let us know in advance when you start the scheduling process.
